Security Design Concepts offers a variety of security
consulting services including: security assessments;
security expert witness testimony; training; land planning
and building architecture review using the concepts of
Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design. We help our
clients by providing valuable information on security
techniques and approaches with the goal of reducing
criminal opportunity in a cost effective manner. The
emphasis is on prevention of crime by blending security
into the environment, making it compatible with the
client’s operation.
About Security Design Concepts
Security Design Concepts, Inc. is an independent security
consulting firm which does not sell or install any products
(i.e., alarms, cameras, lights, locks), thereby allowing an
objective assessment of the client’s situation. Established
in 1984 by Bruce Ramm, a former police crime prevention
officer, the company consultants to businesses from small
to Fortune 100 as well as government, universities, and law
enforcement. Mr. Ramm has over 35 years of experience in
both the public and private sectors.
SDC utilizes a unique approach to conducting security
assessments known as Crime Prevention Through Environmental
Design (CPTED). These concepts address issues of criminal
opportunity and fear of crime in both the living and
working environments. There is an established relationship
between design of buildings/areas and criminal opportunity.
CPTED acknowledges these relationships and provide
guidelines to address them in a positive manner.
